GEOTHERMAL
With attractive tax credits in place, geothermal has become a
more cost-effective heating and cooling option for home and commercial
applications. Depending on the type of geothermal energy system
involved, wells needed to access the warm water may be a few hundred
feet or a few thousand feet deep. Rodgers & Company’s geothermal
experience has included installing small closed thermal geoloops
suitable for both small and large heating and cooling systems.
Deep geothermal wells can present severe challenges, such as
drilling through hard, fractured rock. Rodgers & Company has
extensive experience in geothermal drilling, including drilling
test wells to incorporate direct use of hot ground water for large
scale institutional space heating and cooling.
